MoSA Supports Elderly Stroke Sufferer in Nganjuk with Home Renovation and Business Aid
NGANJUK (14 May 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) team responded immediately to the situation of a Nganjuk citizen who had suffered a stroke and lived in substandard housing. The team provides entrepreneurial aid as well as treatment.
At the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, a team from MoSA's Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly and the Kartini Integrated Center in Temanggung visited Suharto, who had suffered a stroke. The team assessed Suharto's residence in Bukur Hamlet RT 006 RW 001, Bukur Village, Patianrowo District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java.
Suharto is suffering from a mild stroke in his left hand and leg. His speech remains clear. He resides at his ex-wife's family home, which is in poor shape. MoSA is assisting businesses and examining home repairs," stated Iyan Kusmadiana, Head of the Kartini Integrated Center in Temanggung (14/05).
Suharto had divorced his wife, Yun Hartini. From this marriage, Suharto had 4 children. The 61-year-old man has no place to live. "However, Yun Hartini is still looking after him by making a separate room at the back of the house using a makeshift tarpaulin," Iyan went on to say.
Yun Hartini does not work. She is still helped by her children and relatives in her daily life. The house occupied is the house owned by a deceased relative. Yun's house cannot be occupied because the construction has not been completed due to cost issues.
Yun Hartini is registered as a beneficiary of the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance, with two school-aged children as the recipient component.
To help this family, the team helped check Suharto's health in the hospital. The team also took Suharto to the Kartini Integrated Center Temanggung for observation following the ATENSI residential service.
MoSA helped Yun Hartini enhance her income by providing ATENSI stall entrepreneurship assistance. Businesses that can be developed are mung bean porridge, deep-fried snacks, and coffee stalls with a value of IDR 7,966,500.
The dry duck livestock was also prepared, consisting of 15 ducks, animal feed, and cages at IDR 2,567,500. Therefore, the total amount of ATENSI assistance is IDR 10,534,000.
"Further follow-up, we are in the process of proposing house repairs for Yun Hartini through the Integrated Welfare House program," Iyan said.
