YOGYAKARTA (23 August 2023) -- Mira Cipta Lestari looked enthusiastic. The name of 21-year-old woman was called as one of the recipients of the coffee business assistance package.
This is Mira's dream. This person with intellectual and hearing disabilities has already started the coffee business. Her shop stands in the corner of Sayap Ibu Foundation Complex in Sleman, DIY.
However, the equipment was still limited. With assistance from MoSA through Integrated Center Kartini Temanggung, she saw a bright spot. Mira's coffee brewing equipment and materials were handed over directly by the Head of Kartini Temanggung Integrated Center, Iyan Kusmadiana in the hall of the Yogyakarta Sayap Ibu Foundation, on Monday (21/08).
"Not only Mira, we also handed over 13 persons with disabilities to Sayap Ibu Foundation, with a total value of IDR 54.5 million," said Iyan on the sidelines of the event.
Iyan explained that his party had conducted a needs assessment before assisting so that the assistance provided was appropriate and on target. The ATENSI assistance this time was delivered through community-based or institutional Where social welfare institutions (LKS) apply for assistance to their beneficiaries.
"The mechanism is that the application from Sayap Ibu Foundation Social Welfare Institution (LKS) is addressed to Kartini Integrated Center in Temanggung. We are reviewing it and we will provide assistance as soon as possible," he said
Raised at LKS Sayap Ibu, Mira started an independent business. The limitations of being a person with a disability cannot limit Mira's tenacity. Mira obtained coffee-making skills from the YAKKUM Rehabilitation Center for 3 months in 2021.
After graduating from learning how to make coffee, she started a coffee business in 2021 with minimal equipment. Mira is an energetic type, and eager not to depend on others.
The administrator of Sayap Ibu Foundation, Faisal Rizalih Manggala, appreciated Ministry of Social Affairs' quick work in responding to requests for assistance for disabilities. "With this assistance, persons with disabilities are more enthusiastic about entrepreneurship, and the government's attention is felt. We will monitor the aid so that it is used as best as possible," said Faisal.
Assisting in the form of empowerment is a current Ministry of Social Affairs program. Empowerment assistance aims to free beneficiaries from dependence on social assistance while increasing their independence.
Apart from Mira, 12 other beneficiaries received assistance according to their needs, including treadmills, batik equipment, laptops, agricultural materials and tools, motorcycle washing equipment, electric motors, painting equipment, animal feed, a set of tables for study, sewing machines, and a microphone.
