DENPASAR (23 Agustus 2023) - Running with excitement, the girl greeted the bag of goods as soon as her name was called. Sitting down, she began to check her red bag and smile brightly.

"There's milk, honey, drawing books, colored pencils, lots. I like it, thank you," said Ni Putu Pradnya Dewi, the little girl, while showing the contents of the package she received.

Since morning, the students of State Special School 1 Denpasar Bali had lined up neatly in the school hall. Employees, teachers and even parents of the students went back and forth to help transport the aid packages from the car to the hall.

Everyone was enthusiastic to help. This is the first time they have received aid packages in the form of support for the fulfillment of nutrition and school supplies for their special children.

The Ministry of Social Affairs through Mahatmiya Center Bali handed over Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance for 218 students at SLB N 1 Denpasar, Bali, Wednesday, (23/8). The assistance provided is in the form of nutrition packages and school supplies.

"Yes, today we handed over assistance to children at State Special School 1 Denpasar Bali. The aid is in the form of nutrition and school supplies," said the Head of Mahatmiya Center in Bali, Sri Wibowo.

This aid package was provided based on the results of the assessment and discussions between the school and Mahatmiya Center in Bali.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs through Mahatmiya Center is present, collecting data, assessing, and we discuss the needs of children so that the assistance provided is appropriate," said the Principal of SLB N 1 Denpasar Bali, I Ketut Sumartawan.

The aid package is adjusted to the needs of people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities, mental disabilities (autism) and visual disabilities.

For people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities, the aid package contains honey, milk, biscuits, drawing books and several kinds of notebooks, school stationery, colored pencils and crayons.

As for people with mental disabilities (autism), the aid package contains honey, milk, green beans, brown sugar, school stationery, drawing books and several kinds of books, colored pencils and crayons.

Then, for people with visual sensory disabilities, the aid package contains honey, milk, biscuits and backpacks. The aid packages are based on the needs of children with disabilities but with the same amount of aid for each child.

"The amount of aid is the same, but the components are different, according to their needs. There are some types of disabilities that cannot eat foods that contain flour, so we adjust accordingly. This assistance is very useful for our children," said Ketut.

At the same location, Putu Swica Ribawa (45), parent of Ni Putu Pradnya Dewi said that this assistance was useful for fulfilling her child's nutrition, growth, and development. "Thank you to everyone, to the Minister of Social Affairs. Hopefully this assistance will continue, so that the nutrition is fulfilled to support the growth and development of our special child," she said.

Mahatmiya Center in Bali opens wide access to other ATENSI components. "In-depth assessment is very possible. In the future, if there are other needs such as entrepreneurship support, we will help. Not only that, we have preliminary information that some children also need assistive devices, we will conduct an in-depth assessment," said Sri Wibowo.

Mahatmiya Center will also provide counselling to parents of SLB N 1 Denpasar Bali children in terms of proper care for children with special needs.
