Mother of Toddler with Neurological Disorders Visited by the Minister of Social Affairs: I am very happy, Thank you, Ma’am

CIANJUR (May 13, 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is helping to heal the illnesses suffered by two toddlers, Devi Sintya and Azqiya Qurrota Akyun Ayudiya. Both are now undergoing recovery from serious illnesses suffered.

 

Devi (2 years) suffers from a neurological disorder with a lump on her face. Azqiya (4 years) suffers from orbital lymphangioma or cancer of the right eye.

 

Today, the Minister of Social Affairs met the two toddlers by road. In the morning the Minister and her entourage headed to Cianjur to Devi's residence and in the afternoon moved to Majalengka to meet Azqiya.

 

"MoSA assists our two younger siblings who are struggling with the disease. In addition to donations from benefactors through kitabisa.com, ATENSI service and business stimulant assistance are also provided," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini while visiting Devi's residence in Cianjur (12/05).

 

Devi's mother, Sopiah expressed her gratitude. "Thank you, Minister, of Social Affairs. I didn't expect the Minister to come to my hut. I feel happy to be visited by the Minister,” said the 40-year-old woman.

 

Through the digital-based fundraising platform kitabisa.com, the Minister handed over donations from philanthropists. Donations amounted to IDR 102,552,515 for Devi and IDR 79,390,996 for Azqiya.

 

The Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of MoSA has followed up on the Minister of Social Affairs' directives to ensure that the two children receive the services they need. Devi and Azqiya received assistance from the "Inten Suweno" Integrated Center in Cibinong. The Center has assigned a social worker assistant who continues to provide reinforcement and motivation to the families of the two children.

 

On the other hand, MoSA provides ATENSI service, namely meeting nutritional needs in the form of liquid box milk, honey, biscuits, green beans, eggs, oil, corned beef, diapers, and toiletries for babies.

 

Regarding medical treatment, MoSA through social assistance companions coordinates with social offices, hospitals, and related parties so that they get health services.

 

Currently, Devi is in the process of preparing for surgery at Sentosa Hospital Bandung while waiting for the child's physical condition. Azqiya has received treatment at several hospitals, namely Cideres Majalengka Hospital, Cicendo Eye Hospital in Bandung, Salamun Hospital in Bandung, Boromeus Hospital in Bandung and is currently being treated by Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung.

 

Both Devi and Azqiya's parents came from underprivileged families. Devi's mother, Sopiah, opened a coffee shop in a house with bamboo walls. Azqiya Aceng Nahyudi's father (31) is an honorary teacher with a salary of IDR. 500 thousand/month.

MoSA also helps the parents of the two children to help the economy. For Devi's parents, so far they have received Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) support. In addition, MoSA provides additional business capital for stalls.

MoSA and related parties on February 6, 2022, took Azkiya and her family to the Wyata Guna Sentra Bandung. This is to facilitate mobility during the treatment period at Hasan Sadikin Hospital.

MoSA also coordinates with local governments to help them obtain BPNT and PKH assistance.
