JAKARTA (4 January 2021) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini once again greets the community of the social welfare service recipients (PPKS). This morning, Risma walked along the pedestrian on Jalan Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

On foot, Risma found three PPKS. As usual, she greeted and had a dialogue with them, including asking where they came from, and no less important asking them to receive guidance.

Risma met a woman in a pink shirt, carrying a red plastic bag sitting on the sidewalk on Jalan Baturaja next to Plaza Bank UOB, Central Jakarta, her name is Fitri.

To Fitri, Risma conveyed various questions regarding the name and domicile. "Where do you live?" Social Minister asked. However, Fitri only answered simply, "Do not have a house". The rest of the questions from Risma were not answered by Fitri who are suspected of having leprosy.

"Do you want to come with me? I'll give you a place to stay. Do you want it? But don't go anywhere, someone will pick you up, "said Risma who was coordinating with the staff to send a pick-up fleet.

Still on foot, Risma met a mask seller who was sitting on the sidewalk in the same location. The man who is known to be named Yanto, indeed sells masks and tissues every day. To the man who claimed to live in Ulu Jami, RT 01/04 No.45, Kelurahan Pesanggarahan, South Jakarta, Risma only emphasized to wear a mask properly.

Next, on a trip with PPKS, Risma met a middle-aged man who slept on a cardboard box. This white-haired man introduced his name Kastubi and claimed he have no place to live.

"Come with me. I'll give you a place to stay so you don't get caught in the rain. Someone will pick you up later, but not Satpol PP. So, don't go anywhere, "said Risma. A similar offer was made to Faisal. Even Faisal is willing to accept the offer to return to Asahan, North Sumatra, his hometown.

Of the three PPKS, only Kastubi and Faisal are willing to accept assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs. They were then escorted to the Ministry of Social Affairs to enjoy breakfast.

Then they received an initial assessment at the Social Rehabilitation Center for the Ex-Homeless and Beggars "Pangudi Luhur", Bekasi, including a health check according to the COVID-19 pandemic protocol. The next stage they will receive temporary handling before then coordinated with the local government.

Before arriving at her office at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Jalan Salemba, Risma regularly made interactions with PPKS. This has been done since the first day she carried out his duties as Social Minister.

Risma wanted that in handling PPKS, not only by providing assistance based on charity but also interpreting the independence of the beneficiaries in the long term.
