LUWU UTARA (19 September 2020) - Two months after the flash flood in Luwu Utara, the Ministry of Social Affairs is encouraging the strengthening and development of disaster management in disaster-prone areas through facilitating the formation of Disaster Alert Villages (KSB). The KSB development was carried out in four sub-districts, namely Salassa Village in Baebunta District, Lapapa Village in Masamba District, Beringin Jaya Village in South Baebunta District, and Sukamaju Village in Sukajaya District.

The activity was opened simultaneously in the four locations and was attended by several speakers from various Ministries / Institutions (K/L), including the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (KemenPUPR), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) ), Ministry of Villages and PDTT, Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as parties from the local Provincial and Regency Governments.

KSB was formed with the intention of providing protection to the community from the threat and risk of disasters by conducting community-based disaster prevention and management activities through the utilization of natural and human resources in the local environment.
