JAKARTA (December 1, 2024) - In commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) together with BNI, the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), and various stakeholders strengthened their commitment to empowering people with disabilities. The event included health services, collaborative arts, and empowerment programs. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) emphasized the importance of equal access to education, employment, and health, as well as fulfilling the quota for disabled workers in government and private institutions.

As part of this commitment, Kemensos collaborated with BNI in the "Laku Pandai" program, which empowered 65 people with disabilities as agents. This program provides job opportunities and additional income and has won an award from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). In addition, BIG presented a Tactual Atlas designed to help blind people get to know Indonesia's regions more easily.

Artist Tohpati also praised the extraordinary potential of people with disabilities in music, opening up opportunities for further collaboration. This event was attended by Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono and various figures, becoming a momentum to encourage innovation and enthusiasm for work for people with disabilities.
