JAKARTA (October 18, 2024) - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) attended the Tagana Readiness Roll Call held at Buperta, Cibubur, East Jakarta on Friday afternoon (18/10). On that occasion, the Minister appreciated the preparedness of the Disaster Response Volunteers (Tagana) in handling various disasters that occurred in the country. Disaster mitigation efforts such as the formation of the Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB), the construction of the Social Granary, and community outreach are considered important in reducing disaster risks and increasing disaster preparedness for the community.
Not only appreciation, but the Minister also emphasized the Ministry of Social Affairs' commitment to continue strengthening the role of Tagana, which has 38,400 people throughout Indonesia as the leading sector in protection and evacuation.
Later, Ministry of Social Affairs will provide volunteer capacity building, Tagana skills training, improve coordination and collaboration with both the government and the private sector, develop an integrated information system, strengthen the Tagana partner network at the national level, and improve the welfare of volunteers through various programs in collaboration with local governments.
During the event, the Minister also presented a certificate of appreciation from Ministry of Social Affairs to the Jakarta and West Java Social Offices.
