JAKARTA (December 12, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) met with representatives of the World Bank on Thursday (12/12/2024) to discuss collaborative strategies in poverty alleviation. Gus Ipul invited the World Bank to be involved in increasing the capacity of social assistants and empowering Beneficiary Families (KPM) through an attention-based economic scheme. Carolyn Turk, World Bank Country Director for Indonesia and Timor Leste, expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Social Affairs' efforts in establishing a single data system for poverty alleviation and supporting data integration for accurate assistance.

The World Bank also supports the graduation and empowerment efforts being promoted by the Ministry of Social Affairs, by highlighting the importance of creating a productive environment for beneficiaries. The meeting also discussed the lifelong social protection scheme, from babies in the womb to old age, which is part of the Ministry of Social Affairs' efforts to provide social protection.
