JAKARTA (November 29, 2024) - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Mensos) is committed to finding a solution to the donation chaos by meeting Agus Salim for a heart-to-heart dialogue. He emphasized the importance of resolving the problem through mediation with related parties, including lawyers and the disputing parties. Gus Mensos highlighted that this chaos was triggered by a misunderstanding, even though the initial intention was to help the community.

The Minister reminded the importance of understanding the rules related to the Collection of Money and Goods (PUB), as regulated in Law No. 9 of 1961 and Permensos No. 8 of 2021. PUB must have an official permit, good governance, and audited accountability, especially for donations above IDR 500 million. Gus Mensos encouraged the use of social media for transparency of donation results and to maintain public trust.

Denny Sumargo, who was present with Pratiwi Noviyanti, appreciated Gus Mensos' steps to mediate this problem while hoping that donor trust would be maintained. The Ministry of Social Affairs is also committed to improving PUB governance to build a better future and maintain the spirit of social solidarity in the community.
