President Asks Community to Make the Best Use of Social Assistance to Strengthen Capital Funding

The progress of BLT Cooking Oil distribution in Bogor is almost 100%

BOGOR (22 April 2022) – The Bogor community seemed enthusiastic about welcoming President Joko Widodo. Since morning they have been preparing to take positions at the visiting points of the Head of State and his entourage.

From time to time it rained and stopped but they didn't sound bothered. At around 2.30 p.m, the long-awaited special guest arrived. The President and his entourage entered the Pasar Cisarua area, Bogor Regency, Thursday (21/04).

As if it was commanded, the commotion called the name of the President. "Mr. Jokowi! Mr. Jokowi!".

Yesterday, it was the turn of the Bogor community  to be visited by the President. Previously, the President had visited communities in Jambi, Cirebon, Brebes, Sumenep, Surabaya and Gresik.

Similar to those cities, the President, accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, also handed over social assistance to the Bogor community. Social assistance was symbolically handed over to recipient representatives, in the form of the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), and Cooking Oil Direct Cash Assistance (BLT).

There were two envelopes that the President brought and handed over to representatives of shop sellers whose eligibility for assistance had been assessed. "This is IDR 1.2 million for capital funding. This is IDR 300.000 of BLT Cooking Oil. Make the best of it to support the business. Later, if there is profit, you can buy this (the President holds the end of his collar)," said the President as he walked around the market and handed over assistance.

The President then moved to Pasar Ciawi and Pasar Bogor afterward. Similar to Pasar Cisarua, in both places, the President also greeted the community and shop sellers, and handed over assistance.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that the social assistance given to the community, specifically BLT Cooking Oil, was a policy of the President. “I will sell groceries. I used to work as a private driver, but I had an accident that resulted in my leg being amputated. I’m very grateful for this motorbike assistance. Thank you Mr. President and Mrs. Minister of Social Affairs," he said.

A resident of Bojongkerta, Bogor City, Edah (52) admitted that she was happy with the assistance she received in the form of BPNT, PKH and BLT Migor. In total, she received IDR 500.000. She then uses the assistance to buy basic necessities for IDR 300.000 and cooking oil IDR 200.000.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you, Mr. President, for the assistance. It helps fulfill my family's daily needs," said Edah, a vegetables and side dishes peddler.

Post Office Executive Manager in Cibinong, Cecep Yusuf stated, the progress of distribution in Regency and City of Bogor, as of April 21, will be accelerated to 100 percent.

"We are optimistic that the distribution will reach the target of 100 percent today. Distribution constraints in the field are related to payment locations. The access is not as easy as in cities, so the acceleration of payments by adding service points and adding more staff so far is running safely, "he said.
