Response to Community Complaints, Minister of Social Affairs Visits Kampung Bedeng
JAKARTA (June 21, 2021) –
The Ministry of Social Affairs responds to complaints about social problems
from residents in Kampung Bedeng, East Cempaka Putih Subdistrict, Central
Jakarta.
The social problems that residents complain about
in Kampung Bedeng include being prone to flooding, dense settlements, and land
ownership status.
"Regarding land, we have no authority,"
said the Minister of Social Affairs in Kampung Bedeng on Jalan Cempaka Putih
Timur IV No 29 RT 07/RW 07, Cempaka Putih District, Central Jakarta, Sunday
(20/6/2021) afternoon.
The Minister of Social Affairs responds and
accommodates residents' complaints to find the best solution, especially
related to social problems that are the responsibility of MoSA.
"If it is prone to disasters, we need to be
prepared to face disasters in our Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB). Of
course, it will be synergized with the regional government and related
parties," he said.
In addition, MoSA will focus on efforts to improve
the welfare of residents, especially some residents there are school-age
children and the elderly.
"We are focused on ensuring that residents get
social welfare, but we don't know whether economic empowerment or other
services are appropriate," added the Minister.
Head of RW 07, Heru Wardana, stated that until now
there were 66 heads of families (KK) with 44 plot doors who inhabit the land in
Kampung Bedeng.
"Some residents work as private drivers,
salespeople, security guards, household assistants, and officers for handling
public infrastructure and facilities (PPSU)," he said.
One of the residents, Cipto Parmanto, said that the
residents have lived for 20-30 years on a 637-meter land and when it rains they
always get flooded.
"With the presence of the Minister, many
complaints from residents have been submitted, one of which is how to prevent
flooding when it rains," he said.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by
the Director General of Social Rehabilitation Harry Hikmat and the Minister's
Special Advisor, as well as other MoSA officials.
