MAGELANG (February 6th, 2024) - "Antasena" Center in Magelang provided case response services for Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) in Purworejo. This PPKS was Ngateman and his wife and children.
Currently, Ngateman lives at his parent’s house, Mawardi (86), with his eldest brother, Sumarno (60), who has had physical disabilities since he was 8 months old. Meanwhile, Ngateman's two children, Yusuf (13) and Vira (5), and his wife, Sofia, who recently often experienced shortness of breath, also live under the same roof.
To meet their daily needs, Ngateman worked as a sap tapper to make palm sugar, using a profit-sharing system. However, in recent times, there had been no sap to tap so he could not depend on their livelihood from tapping sap only.
Currently, Ngateman works as a casual laborer with uncertain wages that are insufficient. Meanwhile, Ngateman’s family was not included in DTKS and was not facilitated by KIS.
Knowing the condition of Ngateman’s family, "Antasena" Center in Magelang, in collaboration with Purworejo Social Service, as well as Banyuasin Village Government, visited the house of Ngateman’s family on Tuesday (6/2).
"Antasena" Center in Magelang provided assistance in the form of basic necessities and nutritional supplements, religious equipment, kitchen equipment, school equipment, personal hygiene equipment, clothing, and medicines, as well as entrepreneurial assistance in the form of laying hens. Besides, "Antasena" Center in Magelang also fulfilled Sumarno's wish to have a new radio as Marno’s last radio was damaged last year.
The representative from "Antasena" Center in Magelang, Yuli Hartini, hoped that Ngateman’s family could make use of the assistance given as well as possible.
"The assistance we provide is a mandate from the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) to help in alleviating their difficulties. Hopefully, it can ease their burden. We hope that the laying hens continue to grow so that it can help in improving the economy for their survival and their children’s future," said Yuli.
Meanwhile, Ngateman's wife, Sofia, representing Ngateman’s family, expressed her infinite gratitude to those who had helped lighten their burden. "Thank you to MoSA, Purworejo Social Service, and everyone who helped. Thank you for the assistance that has been given to our family, we cannot give anything back," she said.
MoSA continues to provide attention and care to social problems in society, especially to vulnerable and marginalized groups.
