Risma Motivates the Pesantren Kilat Participants in Handayani Center Jakarta
JAKARTA (April 30, 2022) – To fill and improve the quality of worship during Ramadan, Sentra Handayani, Jakarta held a Pesantren Kilat (Islamic course held for a brief period) for the children of the beneficiaries. This activity was more special when the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, joined them as a motivator.
A total of 103 participants were enthusiastic and excited, paying attention to the Minister. On the occasion, the Minister provided motivation and reinforcement so that they become better people and do not return to their past.
The Minister's warmth and caring speech delivery caused the children to feel content. Aside from the role as a leader, the Minister is still a mother and grandmother who is soft-hearted and loves children.
The children listened carefully to the Minister without feeling awkward. They felt close as they gathered at the Istiqomah Mosque Handayani Center Jakarta.
"All of you must not harm other people. Moreover, you must not feel despair or give up. Show the world that you exist. Where there is a will there's a way" said the Minister.
The Minister also stated that she is the mother of those children. She asked them to keep up and not repeat the same mistakes. They must look up to a more meaningful life tomorrow.
"I want to see all of you succeed. That makes me proud. Never give up no matter how hard it is. You can be better," said the Minister.
The children participating in Pesantren Kilat were the beneficiaries of the multi-service center who were undergoing residential social rehabilitation within the center.
While giving the motivation, Mrs Risma was accompanied by the Director of Child Social Rehabilitation, Kanya Eka Santi and the Head of the Handayani Center, Anna Puspasari. On that occasion, the Minister handed over gifts to four winners of the calligraphy writing competition.
One of the winners was H (initial name), a former victim of drug abuse. He said that he was grateful to be able to meet the Social Minister in person while usually only watching her on television. Now, he receives gifts from the minister directly.
"Thank you very much to Mrs Risma. May God bless you every day with great happiness and good health," said H.
H is one among other children who have been 'drowned' in drugs. However, a better tomorrow still can be achieved to chase the dreams.
