AGAM (21 May 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini is committed to ensuring that the food provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs to disaster-affected evacuees is high quality. The food must be nutritionally balanced, appetizing, and hygienically prepared. This is why Minister Risma personally oversees the food service for the evacuees.

In Agam Regency, West Sumatra, for example, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini inspected the food directly for the evacuees displaced by cold lava floods who are sheltered at the Batu Taba football field, IV Angkek District, Agam Regency. On Monday night (20/5), Minister Risma visited the public kitchen managed by Disaster Response Volunteers (Tagana). Besides inquiring about the menu, Minister Risma also helped prepare meals for the evacuees until early Tuesday morning (21/5).

The next morning, on Tuesday, Minister Risma double-checked the food supplied to evacuees. She even personally assisted in preparing meals for the evacuees managed by Tagana and the Disaster Preparedness Village of Batu Taba. "Come on! Let's make sure nothing is missed," Minister Risma reminded volunteers as they folded rice boxes for distribution to evacuees.

The Head of Nagari Batu Taba, Rahmat Hidayat, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing meals to their residents who have been displaced. "We are grateful that amidst the disaster, we did not face food shortages because the Ministry of Social Affairs provided for us. The food tastes good too," said Rahmat Hidayat.

The Head of Nagari Biaro Gadang, Ishak, mentioned that not only is the food delicious and nutritious, but the facilities at the shelter are also very comfortable. In addition to tents and places of worship, there are also portable toilets, health services, psychosocial services, and various other facilities available. "Thank you to the Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs. Risma, for looking after us," he said.
