MALANG (APRIL 15, 2023) - The Kanjuruhan tragedy seems unforgettable for Sinta (12) and Rama (11). Their happiness and joy were snatched away when their father, Andi Setyawan, became a victim of Kanjuruhan some time ago. They were immersed in sadness that seemed to never end. Now, they live without a father figure as a supporter of their lives.

Since their father's passing, Sinta and Rama have lived and resided with their grandfather Rochman on the banks of the Brantas Bumiayu River Basin (DAS), Kedung Kandang, Malang City. Their grandfather, who works as a scavenger, only lives in an uninhabitable house on the banks of the river. Rain and heat are their close friends.

Their happy eyes and cheerful smiles reappeared when the Ministry of Social Affairs and YPP SCTV/Indosiar provided decent housing for them. The housing is located on Jln. Lembayung number 21, Bumiayu Village, Kedung Kandang District, Malang City, made Sinta and Rama's long-vanished dreams grow again. The eyes of the two children were teary when Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini handed over the house to them.

"Sinta and Rama, do you like living here? This is your home, and you don't live in your old house anymore," said Minister of Social Affairs Risma to the two children of the late Andi Setyawan.

Minister of Social Affairs Risma considered not only their housing needs but also their education. Regarding the house location, which is far from their school, the Minister has asked Sinta and Rama.

"Is it far from your school? How do you go to school?" asked Minister Risma.

"No ma'am, we take a bentor (motor rickshaw) to school," Sinta answered. She seemed still in disbelief over what she witnessed, today (15/4).

Sinta and her younger brother, Rama, could only answer softly in a happiness that they could not describe. They felt like a dream to get a house from the Ministry of Social Affairs and YPP SCTV/Indosiar.

"I'm happy to have a house like this. Later I'll live here with my grandparents," said Sinta softly.

Happiness could not be hidden from Rochman's face. The parents of the late Andi Setyawan admitted that they were sad when their son died and caused their two grandchildren to lose their father figure. The suffering that he had endured living on the banks of the river had also been felt by his grandchildren because they lived with him.

Rochman's endless prayers finally reached the sky. The presence of the Ministry of Social Affairs and YPP was the answer to his tears and prayers because he was part of the suffering of the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy.

"Maturnuwun, Bu Risma. Maturnuwun sanget (Thank you, Mrs. Risma. Thank you very much)," said Rochman with teary eyes.

There wasn't much to say except just his thanks and gratitude. Occasionally, a smile appeared on his fragile cheeks when Minister Risma asked about how she felt today. A smile was all he could say to answer Risma's question.

Social Affairs Minister Risma hopes that the house can be a comfortable place for the two children. According to the former Mayor of Surabaya, the provision of the house is her promise to provide a house for Sinta and Rama who suffered as victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy when their father died in the heartbreaking event.

"As I said some time ago, to help the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Today, together with the Peduli Amal Foundation and Peduli Kasih SCTV/Indosiar, we are handing over a habitable house," said Social Affairs Minister Risma.

In addition to the house, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided basic food assistance and furniture for a new house worth IDR 8.5 million. The Social Affairs Minister also thought about the education of the two children so that they could continue until they could graduate and achieve their dreams.

"We also think about their education. We will help them later," continued Risma.

YPP General Chairperson, Imam Sudjarwo, who is also the President Director (Dirut) of Indosiar, admitted that he was happy to collaborate with the Ministry of Social Affairs to be able to help one of the families of the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. He hopes that the collaboration can continue.

"Thank God, for the umpteenth time we have collaborated with the Ministry of Social Affairs. Hopefully, this new house can bring a better life for them and the collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue," said Imam Sudjarwo.
