PARIS (April 11, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini as the opening speaker on the second day of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Infrastructure Forum in Paris, France Wednesday (10/4) morning received appreciation from the Director of Public Governance Elsa Pilichowski regarding Indonesia's experience in handling disasters. “There are so many lessons to be learned from Indonesia's experience, which is very detailed and able to overcome complex disaster problems as an archipelago,” said Elsa.
Elsa continued that OECD countries should learn from each other. Indonesia is one that can be emulated and studied for its disaster management efforts. “OECD member countries must learn together to face the challenges ahead. We can learn from Indonesia,” said Elsa.
Things that received a lot of attention, especially related to the efforts of the Ministry of Social Affairs in providing solutions related to handling trauma healing that involves a multi-stakeholder approach, ranging from universities, community leaders, and traditional leaders, to religious leaders. Another thing that received appreciation was the economic empowerment of disaster victims who had graduated around 38 Beneficiary Families (KPM) from Poverty.
Also appreciated was the establishment of a digital Command Center, which successfully answered Moderator Elsa Pilichowski's question regarding the use of technology and its impact. Through integration with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), it allows the Command Center to mobilize the resources of the Ministry of Social Affairs, from giving orders to directorates in the Ministry of Social Affairs and 37 UPT (Integrated Centers / Centers and Large Centers), to Tagana and Social Assistance. In addition, the Command Center also allows each human resource (HR) to provide reports quickly in about 10 minutes.
Many participants immediately invited Risma to discuss and even wanted to learn from Indonesia, including England, Italy, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Algeria.
In this session, Elsa acted as moderator, guiding three other speakers. The second speaker was Caitlin Durkovich, Deputy Advisor to the Department of Homeland Security for Resilience and Response, National Security Council, United States, who participated online from the White House in the United States. The next two speakers were Graham Russell, Chair of the OECD Regulatory Policy Committee, and Alina Jalea, Country Advisor for Climate Change and Energy Transition, Prime Minister's Office, Romania
