Social Minister Ensures Public Kitchen Are Ready to Support Strengthening PPKM Darurat

BANDUNG (13 July 2021) - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini ensures that the Ministry of Social Affairs is ready to support and implement central government policies. In relation to its task, the Ministry of Social Affairs prepares ready-to-serve food and eggs for nutritional needs during the Emergency Public Activity Restriction (PPKM Darurat) policy.

Currently, Social Minister Risma is monitoring and evaluating the Ministry of Social's public kitchens in seven locations in Java-Bali. Today, the Social Minister directly inspected the Ministry of Social's public kitchen at Wyata Guna Center Bandung, which had been cooking boiled eggs. The Social Minister needs to determine the preparedness of Wyata Guna Center Bandung in improving its services by preparing boxed/ready-to-eat meals.

“Today I checked the public kitchen to know the preparedness of the center in preparing ready-to-eat food. I need to check the equipment, food ingredients and also human resources. I think we are ready,” said the Social Minister while reviewing public kitchen services at Wyata Guna Center Bandung (13/07).

According to the Social Minister, the services of Wyata Guna Center in preparing boxed rice cannot be separated from the high needs and expectations of the community to the Ministry of Social Affairs. The Social Minister saw that the task demand did not allow health workers to leave the workplace.

"A lot of requests came to us. I also saw the health workers were on duty until the evening. Tthere are no stalls open at late night because their operating hours are limited. Leaving the place of duty is also impossible. That's why ready-to-eat food aid is important. It's the same in Jakarta," she said.

The Social Minister expressed her appreciation to a number of parties providing aid to support the operation of public kitchens. With these help, it is enough to support public kitchens in preparing aid for people in need.

Ready-to-eat food from public kitchens is distributed to meet dietary needs, especially for health workers, PPKM guard officers namely the TNI, Polri and military and public order agency (Satpol PP) around DKI, the buffer zone for DKI Jakarta, and in other areas.

The Social Minister will continue to monitor and evaluate the Ministry of Social's public kitchen services in seven cities. Especially in anticipating central government policies related to Emergency PPKM. Social Minister Risma ensured that the Ministry of Social Affairs was ready to provide support.

"Yes, we are ready to support during the implementation of Emergency PPKM," said the Social Minister, answering reporters' questions regarding the possibility of extending the Emergency PPKM policy by the central government.

Data as of Monday (12/7), Wyata Guna Center'spublic kitchen distributed 4,686 items (2,343 packages). Egg packages were sent to health workers at Bandung City Hospital as many as 1,006 items (503 packages), 960 eggs (480 packages) to Bhayangkara Hospital, 1,200 eggs (600 packages) to Hasan Sadikin Hospital, and 1,076 items (538 packages) to Al Ikhsan Hospital.
 
Also 100 items (50 packages) were sent to Muhammadiyah Hospital as many as , 34 items (17 packages) for self isolating residents at Wyata Guna Center, 70 items (35 items) for self isolating residents of Cibeureum Village, 20 items (10 packages) for Community Protecting personnel (LinMas) from Pasir Kaliki Village, 80 items (40 packages) to the TAGANA Team and beneficiaries, and 140 items (70 packages) to the Cicendo Police officers.

In Jakarta, the public kitchen of the Ministry of Social Affairs is centered in the Convention Building of the Main National Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Kalibata, Jakarta. The public kitchen of TMPNU Kalibata produces an average of 15 thousand boxes of ready-to-eat food and 15 thousand boiled eggs every day.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has added 3 public kitchens in three cities, namely Bogor, Yogyakarta and Bali. The number of operating public kitchens is currently seven public kitchens.

Cash Social Aid

On the same occasion, the Social Minister ensured that the Cash Social Aid (BST) had been distributed to the beneficiary families (KPM) since last week. "It has been distributed since last week through PT Pos," said the Social Minister.

The central government has instructed the ranks of the Ministry of Social Affairs to accelerate the social protection program to support the implementation of the PPKM Darurat policy. The Ministry of Social Affairs has accelerated the disbursement of social aidfor communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

PKH and BPNT/Sembako Card are regular social assistance programs to reduce poverty with targets based on Social Welfare Integrated  Data (DTKS). The distribution of PKH and BPNT/Sembako Cards is carried out through the State Banks Association (Himbara) network.

PKH reaches 10 million KPM with an index based on the component in the family. Currently, BPNT/Sembako Card reaches 15.93 million KPM with an index of IDR 200 thousand/KPM/month. Meanwhile, BST is a special social aid with a target of 10 KPM with an index of IDR 300 thousand/KPM/month. BST is distributed through the PT Pos Indonesia network.

BPNT/Sembako Card, which currently reach 15.93 million Beneficiary Families (KPM) increases its reach to 18.8 million KPM. BST with a reach of 10 million KPM runs for two months and to be paid this July.

The Ministry of Social Affairs through State Logistic Agency (Perum Bulog) also distributes 10 kg of rice to KPM BPNT/Sembako Card and BST. "The rice aid is to help the people affected by the pandemic fulfill their basic needs," said the Social Minister.
