Social Minister Invites Young Generation to Learn from Bung Karno's Library Collection
BLITAR (24 October 2021) - The presence of a library in the
Bung Karno's Grave area in Blitar, East Java received special attention from the
Social Minister Tri Rismaharini. On her second day
of the pilgrimage, Social Minister Risma looked on various photos
displayed in the library.
Social Minister also looked
closely at the collection of books about Soekarno. “This library is very good
for young generation. They can learn on how Bung Karno fought and led
this nation," said Social Minister Risma, at Bung Karno's Grave Complex on
Jalan Kalasan No. 1 Bendogerit, Sananwetan, Blitar City, East Java (24/10).
The library which was inaugurated by Megawati Soekarnoputri contained quality books. These books became a source of inspiration for Bung Karno in his struggle.
"In this library we do not only learn about the life history of Bung Karno, but also his role model in fighting for the people and nation," she said. The Social Minister hopes that the young generation will take the time to stop at Bung Karno's library.
The book collections in this library are not only full of
historical values and the struggle of the nation, but also have the value as
a source of knowledge. The books could serve as
role models and are still relevant to answer various contemporary problems developing in the midst of society.
"If the young generation happens to visit Blitar, I hope that they can stop by at Bung Karno's library. They can get knowledge to get through today's situation," said Social Minister Risma.
Social Minister Risma's efforts to arrange the Bung Karno's Grave complex also received appreciation from the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, who coincidentally stopped by on a pilgrimage after his activities in Malang. According to Ganjar Pranowo, the Bung Karno's Grave Complex was getting increasingly beautiful, so visitors would feel very comfortable.
Ganjar also said that he did not have appointment with the Social Minister to meet at Bung Karno's Grave. He was just from an activity at the foot of Mount Semeru. His return route was through Blitar so that he took the time to make a pilgrimage.
The library building resembles Penataran Temple. It is located in the same area as the Proclaimer's Grave. The collections consist of books of Soekarno's works, those that Soekarno read, other people's works about Soekarno, and the works of the nation's defenders. There are also special book collections, general collections, reference collections, children's and youth collections. While non-book collections consist of periodicals, maps and atlases, paintings and photographs, CDs, VCDs, artifacts, reliefs, and super electronics.
