BANDUNG (February 4, 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara emphasized the Ministry of Social Affairs' duty to actualize superior Human Resources (HR) in accordance with President Joko Widodo's vision.

In order to actualize this vision, the Minister hopes that the Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos) in Bandung, West Java will again become an official school of the Ministry of Social Affairs'.

Head of the Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency Prof. Dr. Syahabuddin M.Ag said that, according to the Minister of Social Affairs, he wanted some of the Poltekesos Bandung graduates would be appointed as state civil servants (ASN).

"Social Minister wants alumni not to be left alone. We have plans to make them part of the civil servants. But they are still in the discussion stage," said Syahabuddin M.Ag at the 55th anniversary of Poltekesos Bandung on Tuesday (2/2/2020).

According to Syahabuddin, his party will follow up on the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs by discussing this matter with the chancellors and the Ministry of state apparatus empowerment and bureaucratic reforms (Ministry of PAN RB) for technical issues. He hoped, there would be 500 best student who could become ASN candidates every year.

"We want the best nursery pattern. For example, in a year there are 500 best students who become employees," he said.

The meeting with the Ministry of PAN RB, said Syahabuddin, will discuss the acceleration of the enactment of the Poltekesos Bandung to be as before, namely as an official school of the Ministry of Social Affairs'.

"Like the Military Academy, Police Academy, STAN, BPS, IPDN. The achievers are directly appointed to be civil servants," he added.

 Surveillance Lectures

Meanwhile, Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Dadang Iskandar admitted, until now there are no courses about supervision of social welfare in Poltekesos Bandung. For that, he hopes that supervision courses will be included, because of the need for auditors.

"At the moment there is no supervisory course. I have asked to include a subject about the supervision of the implementation of social welfare," said Dadang.

It also claimed to require 100 percent of the auditors to become employees at the Inspector General of Ministry of Social Affairs.

"The portion of staff needs in Inspector General is 125 people. There were only 60 professionals who work as auditors. In the future we need 100 percent because the number of sub-districts in Indonesia, which is more than 7 thousand, requires oversight of the Social Welfare program," he said.
