JAKARTA (June 1, 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara sees various positive attitudes in the community to face the COVID-19 pandemic. On their own initiative, grow empathy and care for others, help each other, work together with willingness and sincerity
Juliari stated that today is the 75th Anniversary of the Pancasila. After more than seven decades the Pancasila was born, the basic values of Pancasila, still thriving in the midst of society.
Representing the government, the Minister of Social Affairs expressed his highest appreciation to community figures, religious leaders, the business community, and the wider community for their contribution in accordance with their respective fields. In the midst of this difficult situation, empathy and caring attitude, helping each other’s, mutual cooperation with full of willingness and sincerity, became the key of this nation out of crisis.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has a wide impact on society. In the midst of economic and social pressure, pure initiatives from the community grow, helping each other’s, work together, share with one another, and be willing to sacrifice. This is a real form of implementing the values of Pancasila, " said Juliari (01/06).
Juliari draws this conclusion from the various events he witnessed from various reports, as well as from seeing and experiencing it for himself during his duties.
In mitigating the impact of COVID-19, the Ministry of Social Affairs is distributing social assistance to affected communities, both regular and non-regular social assistance (social assistance from the President and cash social assistance).
When in the midst of the community for checking the distribution of social assistance, Social Minister found recipients of social assistance willing to share with their neighbours. "I heard from beneficiary family directly, they are willing to share with neighbours who have not received social assistance. This is a real example of the spirit of unity, willing to help, help each other’s, with sincerity and brotherhood. This is the real form of the implementation of Pancasila values, "said the Minister.
The Ministry of Social Affairs also receives various assistance from community groups, businesses, professional associations, etc., to be distributed to beneficiaries.
"Feelings of sympathy for others to share with their affected relatives have also grown from the business community. And there are many more expressions of social solidarity that grew and developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, " said Juliari.
Social workers in all corners of the country, have also shown initiatives and concrete examples, how to work with a calling and help fellow countrymen. Social Minister appreciates all elements of society who have shown willingness, sincerity and mutual cooperation.
