JAKARTA (February 20, 2023) – The faces of Aileen Oxavia Triyatno's parents look a little relieved. Their second child, who was suspected of having kidney failure, is now being treated well. Currently, the three-year-old toddler is receiving treatment at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Minister of Social Affairs who has directed her staff to help handle Aileen's treatment. "What was previously in critical condition, has now been taken to RSCM in Jakarta, and thank God, her condition has now improved," said Tri Indriani (33), Aileen's biological mother, when met at RSCM Jakarta, Sunday (19/2).

Tri said she almost gave up seeing her daughter's condition was not getting better. Since experiencing a high fever on February 6, Tri has taken Aileen for treatment at the clinic and to the hospital in Cirebon. Aileen's fever did not go down and her whole body was swollen. She was diagnosed with progressive acute kidney failure.

"Honestly, I never thought I would get help like this, I had given up. I saw that Aileen's condition at the previous hospital was getting worse, it was not clear when she would be taken to the referral hospital. Alhamdulillah, Allah's help came at the right time. I met the staff from the "Phala Martha" Center in Sukabumi," he said.

Aileen's current condition is slowly showing progress. She was treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for three days after undergoing dialysis. However, on Sunday (19/2), Aileen was moved to the treatment room.

Previously, the story of Aileen Oxavia Triyatno, who had to go home from the hospital because she could not pay the fees, was widely reported in the media. Her parents were forced not to continue treatment because they were not registered as BPJS recipients. Aileen's father, Yatno (39) works as an employee in a shop in Cirebon with a mediocre salary. Her mother does not work to focus on taking care of Aileen and her 7-year-old brother. Thus, the family income cannot cover hospital costs.

Information about Aileen was also included in media monitoring of the Ministry of Social Affairs and immediately received the attention of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini. The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the "Phala Martha" Center in Sukabumi, immediately took Aileen to receive initial treatment at the Indramayu Regional Hospital, on Wednesday (15/2).

“Aileen is not yet registered as a BPJS recipient. However, we still took her to the hospital, while taking care of her BPJS membership. Thank God, the membership card came out quickly from the hospital. On February 16, her BPJS was already active," said the Head of the "Phala Martha" Center at the Sukabumi Cup Santo.

On February 16, Cup Santo said that his party immediately referred Aileen to get more comprehensive treatment in RSCM with operational costs covered by the Ministry of Social Affairs. "The Ministry of Social Affairs covered the operations. We also coordinate with the "Handayani" Center in Jakarta to accommodate her family's stay in Jakarta. "Thus, the family can take turns watching and resting at the center," he said.

Apart from facilitating Aileen's treatment, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) i.e. basic materials, personal hygiene tools, and additional nutrition for Aileen. Aileen's parents also received assistance, such as mattresses and blankets, which they used while on duty at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Aileen's acute kidney condition has also been reported to the Ministry of Health and the Police Criminal Investigation Unit considering that cases of acute kidney disease in children are common. "We have discussed with the Ministry of Health and Bareskrim to investigate the syrup medicine that Aileen took. The Ministry of Health has also come to Aileen's parents' rented house in Cirebon to take medicine and food samples," said Cup.

Before experiencing acute kidney failure, Aileen's mother admitted that her child had no health problems. Aileen was born normally with a body weight of 2.7 kg. Even during pregnancy, Aileen's mother regularly checked her pregnancy with a midwife.

Furthermore, Cup said his party would conduct a further assessment to provide business capital for Aileen's parents. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs plans to give a phone credit kiosk business for Aileen's father, and a food and soft drink business for her mother.
