JAKARTA (8 June 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to carry out verification and validation (verivali) of social assistance beneficiaries.

The target recipients of the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) or Sembako Assistance are 18.8 million beneficiary families (KPM), while the Family Hope Program (PKH) is 10 million beneficiary families (KPM).

"BPNT targets 18.8 million KPM and PKH targets 10 million KPM, which is expected to be 60 percent of decile 6 so that the data is effective and accurate," said Director General for Poverty Handling (PFM) Asep Sasa Purnama in Jakarta, Tuesday (8/6/2021) morning.

The Directorate General of PFM appreciates the results of the data verification, because it will help the assistance disbursement to be more targeted and accelerate the government's efforts to encourage economic independence.

"This is the domain of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) and the Directorate General of PFM is the user of the results of the data verification," said Asep.

Pusdatin also has the authority to discuss efforts on improving the criteria and standards of the beneficiaries so that they can be more targeted.

To accelerate the government's efforts to encourage the economic independence of the beneficiaries, a collaborative work across Ministries and Institutions (K/L) is deemed necessary.

"Efforts to accelerate economic independence are cross-agencies (K/L) efforts that needs synergism with various parties, such as SOEs and the business world," said Asep.
