The Ministry of Social Affairs responded quickly to the rampant cases of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) that occurred in Indonesia. One of them is through an empowerment program, namely providing entrepreneurship opportunities for victims of TIP in the Provinces of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and D.I.Yogyakarta.

During his working visit to NTT and DI Yogyakarta, Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini interacted directly with victims of TIP. The Ministry of Social Affairs provides assistance to victims of TIP such as business capital for gardening, kiosk businesses, and livestock. This is so that the victims have their own income so they are not interested in working abroad which causes them to become involved in a human trafficking syndicate. In addition, some of them were provided with skills training such as cosmetology and workshops.
