Visiting Galih Pakuan Center, Social Minister: Ensure Services Running Well

JAKARTA (10 May 2021) - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini visited the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Galih Pakuan Social Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abuse Victims in Pakuan Bogor, West Java.
The visit is to ensure that services remain open for people who need services, especially just before Eid.
"Services must remain open for people who need services," said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini at the Galih Pakuan Center on Jalan H. Miing No. 71 Putat Nutug Ciseeng Bogor, Monday (10/5/2021) tonight.
The Social Minister reviewed the facilities and ordered the center to have facilities for the drug abuse victims such as ping pong, chess, and a simple musical instrument or organ.
The library room must be more organized to be easily accessible and supported by adequate facilities such as being equipped with a computer, as well as to facilitate communication with Base Transceiver Station (BTS).
To beautify the environment, the center should place fruit plants, such as citrus fruits and buy a lawn mower. The center could also provide skills for chicken farming or painting. The center also needs to place shoe shelves so that the shoes can be arranged tidily.
Beneficiaries (PM) mostly come from West Java, Jakarta, Kalimantan, West Sumatra, Medan, police referrals, as well as those who are directly escorted by the police.
In order to provide a sense of security, the center needs to be provided with a guardrail..
The center could also use solar cells for energy saving.
A mini football field and movable basketball hoop need to be provided too.
PMs can get skill training in the center such as programming and photography. The Minister emphasized that there was no need for a new building, but rather optimizing the existing functions to be more organized and habitable.
Meanwhile, child PM can channel their interests such as making murals, border sewing skills, cooking training, and barista training.
