JAKARTA (September 2, 2019)Minister of Social Affairs Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita reminds every officials and employee in the Ministry of Social Affairs to always be ready facing transformation.

Social Affairs Minister points out that basically, bureaucracy reformation is a process of change towards a better direction.

“If the quality of bureaucratic performance is good, then the vision or future goals of a country will be easier to achieve and vice versa. The requirement for a succeeded country in carrying a development is determined by the bureaucracy preparedness,” said the Social Affairs Minister when opening “Workshop on Strengthening Agent of Change for Bureaucracy Reformation in The Ministry of Social Affairs 2019”, in MoSA complex, Monday (02/09/2019).

A number of Echelon I and II officials, and the Ministry of Social Affairs staff were present in this event.

The Social Affairs Minister stated that this workshop is certainly a mandate from Ministry of Bureaucracy Reforms through The Bureau Reform Ministry’s Regulation No. 13 year 2011 which has become reference in composing the Social Affairs Ministry’s Road Map. However, the Social Affairs Minister said that even though there is no regulation from Bureaucracy Reform Ministry, this event still had to get attention from The Ministry of Social Affairs.

“Basically, the important meaning of Agent of Change’s presence is the bureaucracy preparedness in executing the development. The main key is on bureaucracy’s quality. The state civil apparatus must be ready to change into a professional so the country goals can be achieved,” the Social Affairs Minister said.

Bureaucracy reformation, the Social Affairs Minister said, is more relevant with the indication for the Ministry of Social Affairs budget increase. At 2015, the MoSA’s budget is around IDR 22.455.120.265.000. In 2018, it increased to IDR 43.393.136.929.000, and in 2019 it increased to IDR 58.966.502.006.000. The Minister stated that in 2020, the Ministry of Social Affairs budget was estimated to increase, and became the fifth biggest in between the Ministry/Institution.

“The country trusts the Ministry of Social Affairs. Along with that, it needs a good management, which refers to the transparent and accountable state financial management principle. Our preparedness as an official and bureaucrat is needed,” the Minister said.

In the same opportunity, Head of Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency Harry Z Soeratin stated that in Grand Design of Bureaucracy reformation 2010-2025,  it is hoped that the Ministry/Institution and local government are able to achieve professional and high integrity government bureaucracy.

“In 2019, a good, clean, and free of corruption, collusion and nepotism government management quality is realized, as well as a public service which align with public’s hope,” he said.

To realize that, Harry said, the Ministry/Institution have to be able to do every effort to push the organization on change through forming of Agent of Change or role model.

Harry stated that,” Workshop of strengthening Agent of Change in Order of Bureaucracy Reformation”, taking theme “Agent of Change, Prime Mover Towards Professional, clean on servicing in Bureaucracy of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

This day’s activity is meant to fulfill the Ministry of Bureaucracy Reform’s recommendation, which is to provide reinforcement for the agent of changes around the Social Affairs Ministry’s environment.

This activity was followed by 243 persons, consist of the representatives from each working unit in the MoSA’s environment.
