JAKARTA (25 April 2022) – President Joko Widodo appreciates and is satisfied with the achievement of the social assistance distribution. Based on the data received by the Ministry of Social Affairs from PT. Pos Indonesia, the distribution of BLT cooking oil nationally reached 98.3%.

Present to accompany the President in distributing social assistance at PT Pos Jakarta, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that the encouraging progress was a follow-up to the President's directive so that the BLT Cooking Oil reached the hands of the beneficiaries before Eid al-Fitr.

"Alhamdulillah, the distribution of social assistance has reached 98 percent. I hope that the social assistance can help the community meet some of their basic needs amid rising prices," said the Minister on a separate occasion (25/04).

The Minister also stated that the achievement of the social assistance distribution could not be separated from the cooperation of all relevant parties. This includes PT. Pos as distributors, local government ranks and also social companions.

BLT Cooking Oil was distributed for about 14 days.

Furthermore, PT Pos Indonesia stated that the progress of the distribution of social assistance could not be separated from the monitoring and supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) as the employer.

"Besides the progress is fast, we can also tidy up administratively because the beneficiaries and their house are photographed so it can be verified with the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil). In other words, it is very accountable," said President Director of PT Pos Indonesia Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi.

He admitted that the success of the distribution could not be separated from good cooperation with the MoSA who carried out the strategy so that what the President assigned could be carried out. The President ordered all BLT cooking oil to be distributed before Eid al-Fitr arrives.

"Together with MoSA and Social Office, we work together to accelerate the distribution of BLT cooking oil by increasing the number of distribution points, adding distributor agents, and opening longer services until the evening. God willing, before Eid arrives or next Friday, everything will be distributed," he said.

Directorate General of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims, Mira Riyati Kurniasih, welcomed this good achievement. The distribution could reach a very significant amount in two weeks.

"According to the President's order, before Eid al-Fitr arrives, BLT cooking oil is distributed to recipients of IDR 300.000 for 3 months, namely April, May and June. The assistance will be distributed at once in April," she said.

Regarding distribution, Mira admitted that there were no significant obstacles. However, the Minister asked to oversee it completely and reach the recipient on time, in the right amount, on target and with the right accountability.

"In general, there are no significant obstacles, except for locations such as Papua and Mentawai and that has been successfully resolved by PT Pos Indonesia. As evidence, the assistance distribution to 18.3 million beneficiaries of BPNT, PKH, and BPNT/PKH was carried out successfully, " she said.

The President, accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, symbolically handed over the BLT cooking oil and basic food assistance directly to the beneficiaries. Those beneficiaries were very enthusiastic and willing to wait ever since noon.

One of the beneficiaries, Nurhayati, 53 years old, was very moved since President Joko Widodo directly handed over the BLT cooking oil to her.

“I am delighted and very moved because this is the first time I can meet President Joko Widodo directly. Thank you for the assistance. It will be used to buy basic needs,” said Nurhayati, who lives in Jalan Duri Bangkit.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria; Police Chief of Metro Jaya, Inspector General of Police M Fadil Imran; and Pangdam Jaya, Major General Untung Budiharto, as well as officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs and PT Pos Indonesia.
