JAKARTA (5 June 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs Juliari Batubara hands over the President’s basic food assistance to two social organizations, the Ansor Youth Movement and the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI). Each organization received a total of 1,000 packages of basic food assistance.
Juliari said that the partnership between the state and the community - including mass organizations, was needed in dealing with various national problems including the COVID-19 pandemic as it is today.
Juliari stated, there is a space where the state - in this case the Ministry of Social Affairs, cannot reach because of limited resources and capabilities. "However, mass organizations such as GP Ansor - who historically took part in establishing the country, have reach everywhere. So, we thank you, because GP Ansor is willing to help us distribute social assistance to people affected by COVID-19, "said Social Minister Juliari when visiting the Ansor GP Office in Jakarta (05/06).
As part of the social safety net policy, the President's social assistance is expected to reach the widest possible range of people affected by COVID-19. Therefore, said the Minister, the Ministry of Social Affairs did not only work as usual but also partnering with the ministries / agencies, and local governments.
"We are not only cooperating with government elements or state banks in distributing social assistance. But we also involve the community. Yesterday we were communicating with film workers, soap operas and artists. This time we are collaborating with GP Ansor and GAMKI, "said the Minister.
On this occasion, Juliari handed over symbolically the basic food assistance to GP Ansor General Chairman Yaqut Cholil Quomas and community representatives of the online motorcycle taxi, the clown artists, the street busker, the Koran teacher, and others.
GP Ansor General Chairman Yaqut Cholil Quomas is very grateful to the Minister of Social Affairs. "Ministry of Social Affairs is cool. Under the leadership of Juliari, his steps showed that the country was concerned. That data for social assistance recipients can be collaborated with mass organizations. This is a real form of the present state, "Yaqut said.
GP Ansor ensured that the data for submitted social assistance recipients met the provisions. "All of our data meet the requirements of having a National Identity Number (NIK) and by name by address," he said. Today also, Social Minister symbolically handed over basic food assistance to GAMKI. Juliari hopes, social assistance can be distributed to those in need, and provide maximum benefits.
