Two towers are being worked on, namely in DKI Jakarta with 50.48% progress and in Bekasi, West Java with 77.84% progress.

SURAKARTA (JANUARY 3rd, 2022) – In accelerating poverty alleviation, Ministry of Social Affairs was integrating various program. For vulnerable groups, Ministry of Social Affairs provides social assistance, such as entrepreneurship development and also residential facilities.

In line with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, vulnerable groups such as scavengers, homeless people and beggars will be provided with proper and healthy housing facilities in the form of flats (rusun). The Ministry of Social Affairs submitted an application to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing for the construction of 16 flat towers in 11 locations within the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Technical Implementation Unit.

In the 2021 budget year, the construction of flats has been allocated in 2 locations, namely DKI Jakarta with physical progress as of December 24, 2021 having reached 50.48% and in Bekasi, West Java with physical progress of 77.84% and will be completed in early 2022.

Regarding this need, two agencies have been and currently conducting intensive coordination. The Ministry of Social Affairs through Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation carried out the Collaborative Synchronization activity for the Preparation of Flats (Rusun) for Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) in Manahan, Surakarta, to prepare for the next development.

"Construction of flats in Manahan Surakarta is to improve the dignity of PPKS through the provision of proper and healthy housing. With a proper house, they can focus on improving their welfare," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Affairs, Idit Supriadi Priatna in an activity held at the ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) Erce Café in Integrated Center “Prof. Dr. Soeharso” Solo some time ago.

In his presentation, Idit explained that the presence of flats is important to be realized. "According to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Risma, we need to immediately follow up on the construction of this flats by cooperating with the Ministry of PUPR, considering that the number of PPKS in Indonesia is quite large," he said.

Idit explained that Social Minister's policy at the beginning of 2021 was that PPKS must be responded quickly and given Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) services both in family, community, and residential areas. "Furthermore, they can access other programs such as PKH, BPNT and Prokus according to the results of the assessment," he said.

With these flats, the former beneficiaries of social rehabilitation program can get proper housing with affordable prices. So that they are able to focus on improving their economy to be independent.

"Therefore, there is a need for consolidation and cooperation from all parties, including the local government regarding the flat program for PPKS in Surakarta, and being able to make the flat as an icon of Surakarta City," said Idit, accompanied by the Head of the Integrated Center “Prof. Dr. Soeharso” Surakarta Juena Br. Sitepu and Head of Wyata Guna Center, Sudarsono.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Technical Design Sub-Directorate of the PUPR Ministry, Yuri Hermawan explained, the use of flats for PPKS is intended for scavengers, homeless people, beggars, manusia gerobak, the elderly and other neglected residents.

“The total from Kemensos proposal as many as 16 towers which 24/5 floor type 108 unit. The construction of PPKS flats was in parallel with handling extreme poverty program which also become a priority,” she said.

 

Representative of Director of Flat Zone II Novisa Dwiarti Arsyad explained based on Social Minister’s letter to PUPR Minister about submitted an application to construct a flat for PPKS in 11 locations with 16 towers in around Technical Implementation Unit of Ministry of Social Affairs. PUPR Minister will response this program gradually.

 

Ministry of PUPR encourages Ministry of Social Affairs to immediately prepare the flat management with their residents as well as the program of Ministry’s proposal for the allocation of flats for PPKS.

 

The events continued with direct inspection the construction progress of flats which is expected can be integrated with ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) Erce in Integrated Service Center “Prof. Dr. Soeharso” Surakarta.
