JAKARTA (23 May 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) and the Kendal Regency Government prepared social assistance for Tarno. This 32-year-old man suffers from a brain tumor and is unable to access health services due to his limited economic condition.

The Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini has ordered her staff to ensure assistance for Tarno. During a visit to Tarno's residence in Blimbing Hamlet, Mlatiharjo Village, Patean District, Kendal Regency, the Minister handed over a donation of IDR 67,783,762. The donation was from kitabisa.com.

The Minister stated that MoSA helps people who are experiencing problems like Tarno. “However, we need to cooperate with a donation-raising platform, namely kitabisa.com since MoSA’s budget does not support sustainable treatment," said the Minister in Jakarta (23/05).

Now Tarno's treatment process is continuing at Kariadi Hospital, Semarang. "God willing, MoSA and kitabisa.com will continue to assist Tarno during his treatment while in the hospital," the Minister added.

Head of Kendal District Social Office, Toni Ari Wibowo expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the response of all parties, including the Minister of Social Affairs. Regarding funding, Toni is in line with the statement of the Minister of Social Affairs that the government's budget cannot fully support this need.

“Alhamdulillah, the Minister of Social Affairs is here by cooperating with the community. The Kartini Integrated Center of MoSA and the social companion did a great job helping Tarno's various needs," said Toni.

The Kartini Integrated Center provided various supports, food and clothing, practical tools, and entrepreneurship assistance. Toni said that currently, the Kendal Regency Government, together with the social pillars of MoSA and related parties were preparing social assistance for Tarno. This was to help Tarno and his family who have insufficient income.

"The assistance given to Tarno and his family was the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) program on behalf of his father. We are trying to break up the Family Card (KK) so that Tarno can receive assistance on behalf of Tarno himself. We are trying to process the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and other social assistance," said Toni.
