JAKARTA (8 November 2023) - Ahead of the National Heroes' Day Pilgrimage Ceremony on 10 November, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini checked the readiness of the location at Kalibata Main National Heroes' Cemetery (TMPNU).

TMPNU Kalibata is a cemetery specifically for Indonesian citizens who have the title of National Hero, the Republic of Indonesia Star of Honor, the Mahaputera Star of Honor, or citizens who have the Guerrilla Star of Honor Medal.  TMPNU is located on 25 hectares of land.  This large area of ​​land certainly requires more attention and care.

For this reason, Minister Risma was immediately present to check the readiness of the location.  "Clean the moss, here and there," said the Minister while showing the spots that needed to be cleaned to the employee who was cleaning the floor.

A total of 100 Kalibata TMPNU employees have been deployed to work to clean up the entire location since last month.  All corners did not escape the attention of the employees.

Not only Kalibata TMPNU employees, Ministry of Social Affairs employees also worked to clean up TMPN.  "Disaster Response Volunteer (Tagana), and employees from Secretariat of Social Empowerment of MoSA have also been helping with community service work for two days," said Saudi, an employee of MoSA.

Apart from the National Pilgrimage Ceremony, the 2023 Heroes' Day Commemoration series also includes flower sowing in the waters of Jakarta Bay, strengthening the value of heroism, which is also carried out at TMPNU Kalibata, conferring the title of National Hero at the State Palace, 60 seconds of silence throughout Indonesia, as well as activities warnings both to attaches abroad and in the regions.

“Heroic Spirit for the Nation’s Future in Fighting Poverty and Ignorance” is the theme raised at this Heroes’ Day Commemoration.
