The distribution of various assistance is the most beautiful gift for the people of North Central Timor (TTU) Regency to celebrate the NCT’s 100th birthday 

 

WINI (17 September 2022) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini again visited the border area in North Central Timor Regency (TTU), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. This is the third visit for the Minister, especially to the Wini area.


The presence of the Minister for the third time received an extraordinary response. The Minister was greeted with traditional dances and given respect by wearing traditional clothes. The Minister attended the "Inauguration of Residential Houses, Community Centers and Post-Disaster Polyclinics".


The Minister then had a dialogue and gave encouragement to the children. The Minister stated that the facilities were built to allow children to learn remotely.


"Later, I will teach you all. There will also be teachers who do not teach Mathematics or Art, but give you encouragement. You got the point?" said the Minister.


Afterwards, she paid special attention to girls. The Minister requested the parents to give the same rights and opportunities as boys.

 

"Don't get them married too young, okay, Papa Mama. Let her chase her dream through education," said the Minister during her visit to the Indonesia-Timor Leste border, around the Wini State Border (PLBN) area, North Insana District.

 

The Minister also followed up on the plans to provide assistance that had been announced on the two previous visits.


The Minister distributed three types of assistance in the form of construction of drilled wells in Humusu Village, through village cooperative (KUD) Fafinesu in the amount of IDR 315,490,000. Assistance for sunflower cultivation through KUD Fafinesu in the amount of IDR 161.792,000. Drilling Well Assistance in Humusu Village through KUD Fafinesu in the amount of IDR 194,000,000.


The Minister also witnessed the handover of equipment grant in the form of Komatsu PC210-10M0 UT Excavator, the construction of a polyclinic (along with facilities and infrastructure) and the construction of a Community Center (along with facilities and infrastructure). These three aids were provided by PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) and its subsidiary PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA).

 

"Excavators help to dredge the river because the river here is shallow and can cause floods. After excavating, it is hoped that the overflow of water from the surrounding mountains can be accommodated in the river," said the Minister.


The Minister also inaugurated the assistance for earthquake-resistant houses with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A total of 20 units of earthquake-resistant houses were built as assistance to families affected by Seroja Hurricane in early 2021.


“I designed this house myself, which is compact in shape because it has to be earthquake resistant. Later it will be equipped with solar cells (solar electricity)," said the Minister.

 

The addition of solar cell equipment is intended to reduce residents' spending. If they use electricity from the State Electricity Company (PLN), residents will be charged a monthly fee. 

 

Meanwhile, with the construction of the Community Center, it is hoped will encourage children to learn. It is equipped with various modern facilities inside so that children and local residents can improve the quality of learning.

 

In addition, the Minister witnessed cataract surgery, then visited exhibition booths and bought weaving made by local residents.


In his remarks, TTU Regent Juandi David expressed his appreciation for all the assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The provision of these various facilities shows that the government has given great attention to the people of TTU. "This various assistance is the most beautiful gift for TTU's 100th birthday," said Juandi.
