JAKARTA (May 3, 2023) - Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini asked her staffs to continue to improve and strengthen performance. After the Eid al-Fitr holiday is a momentum to reflect and improve.

"In this life, changing is eternal. The day that has changed will not be replaced. If we do not gain knowledge and experience, our time is wasted," said the Minister in front of the Ministry of Social Affairs Employee (3/5).

The Minister emphasized the importance of learning. She said that the improvement of disability infrastructure, disability cafes and spatial planning in the Ministry of Social Affairs, she handled and supervised by herself. "As an architect that is my field. But as Minister of Social Affairs, I handle various things so that I have to learn," she said.

While carrying out her duties, the Minister of Social Affairs found a person with disabilities who had been 39 years unable to walk. It turns out that with certain handling, this person can walk. From here, the Minister of Social Affairs learned a lot.

Once she met a 19-year-old person with disabilities in NTT.  By learning from previous experiences, the Minister knew that the Beneficiary (PM) could be given certain therapies so that it did not depend on assistive devices.

The Minister of Social Affairs thought the PM did not need to use a wheelchair. "That's right. It turns out that after being treated and trained in Solo (Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta Integrated Center) he can walk. Now he can do various kinds of business. This means that I am also learning," she said.

The Minister again emphasized that employees have to use the time wisely and effecctively. "If today is 35 years old, next year it will be 36 years old. If we don't increase our knowledge, then it will wasted," she said.

The Minister asked her staff to develop networks to improve performance. "Don't just do the routine. Do not let employees only know their own duties. Do not know the friend next to him. We need to establish relationships with others so that we can help each other," she said.

In addition to establishing relationships so that they can help each other, at the end of her briefing, the Minister again emphasized that every employee at all levels should learn and develop themselves every day.
