SOUTH TANGERANG (21 APRIL 2020) - After President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, represented by Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara on Monday 20 April 2020 launched a basic food assistance program for 1.9 Million Family Heads (KK) in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang area and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) worth Rp. 600 thousand per family per month for 3 months. The government through the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) has re-realized the addition of the number of basic food assistance recipients from 15.2 million to 20 million Beneficiary Families (KPM).
"The addition of 4.8 million KPM is an extension of the recipient of the Basic Food Program or formerly known as Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT)," said Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara accompanied by the Mayor of South Tangerang Airin Rachmi Diany when distributing the Welfare Family Card (KKS) in Sawah Village, Ciputat, Tuesday (4/21/2020).
The Minister witnessed the process of handover the Welfare Family Card (KKS) to the Beneficiary Family of the Basic Food Program and wanted to ensure that the distribution of Social Assistance Programs ran according to expectations amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Starting this April 2020, every KPM expansion of the Basic Food program (BPNT) which is a regular program of the MoSA will get social assistance every month of Rp 200 thousand until December 2020," he said.
KPM that received this expansion has logged in to Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS)
This basic food program is different from the President's basic food assistance, where KPM does not receive direct social assistance in the form of basic food but transferred to beneficiary accounts by banks that are partners of the MoSA in the distribution of social assistance.
