SURABAYA (June 10, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, said that the Young Generation is expected to emulate the ancestral spirit of "Perdikan" Land which never be controlled by the colonizers even to pay taxes to the colonizers. We may lose in weapons or equipment or even anything, but we must not lose in the real spirit and fighting power. This was stated by Social Affairs Minister Risma after receiving a Customary Title from the Sentono Dalem Perdikan Majan Foundation (YASEDAM).
In the event took place on Thursday (6/6) night at Kesepuhan Perdikan Majan, Majan Village, Kedungwaru District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java, Social Affairs Minister Risma was awarded the title Raden Ayu Adinegoro (R.A.A). This title was given directly by the Chairman of YASEDAM, Raden Moh Ali Sodik and witnessed by the Council of Elders, Abah KH Raden Yasin and Abah Raden H Mahmudi.
This title was given as a form of appreciation for the role and dedication of Tri Rismaharini as a female figure who continues to maintain noble traits and characters in maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). YASEDAM assesses that the nature and character possessed by Social Affairs Minister Risma are in line with the noble values held by the local indigenous people.
"I am very surprised, I was once invited by my parents here. I am grateful to get the trust of this title, but the main thing is to be able to stay in touch with my brothers and sisters, the term is nyambung balung pisah (connected to others)," said Social Affairs Minister Risma after receiving the traditional title. Social Affairs Minister Risma added that her father often told her the story of the "Perdikan" Land, one of which was occupied by her ancestors, and could not be colonized by the Dutch.
Risma continued the story of the "Perdikan" Land which was not on the colonizers' map, so it never paid taxes to the colonizers. This was confirmed by Majan community leaders who were the first Village Heads, even until 1979 Majan "Perdikan" Land never paid taxes.
Ancestral relics can also be seen at the NU Museum, such as: endog bledek (eggs that will move to make a loud sound when there is a threat) to shoulder belts and krises and the prayers of the kyai which were useful when facing the invaders.
Social Affairs Minister Risma also took the time to stay in touch with the elders of Majan "Perdikan" Land. The Minister also visited the Mosque with its distinctive tower and buildings that she had visited as a child, as well as a pilgrimage to the graves of local community leaders.
In her speech shortly after receiving the award, Social Affairs Minister Risma talked about the importance of an unyielding fighting spirit for the younger generation, whatever our circumstances. Because our ancestors have proven that in expelling the invaders. "This is the main purpose of our presence as an independent nation," she concluded.
