JOMBANG (October 29, 2023) - Zakarya Hani Putra looked enthusiastic waiting for the arrival of Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini at his house in Tunggul Hamlet, Tunggorono Village, Jombang Regency. Social Affairs Minister Risma will visit the boy who is often called Arya after undergoing surgery for a genital tumor or seminoma on (5/10) at the Jombang Regional Hospital.
Not long after, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini arrived at the house of this 8-year-old boy. "Hello, Arya. How are you? Is your condition better?" said Social Minister Risma greeting Arya.
Social Affairs Minister Risma visited Arya to bring some gifts. She gave Arya various school supplies, additional nutrition, toys, and clothes. In addition, the Minister of Social Affairs also provided ATENSI assistance in the form of fulfilling basic needs and entrepreneurial assistance in the form of materials for folding songgong bags and paper bags and repayment of BRI KUR loans for Arya's late father given to Winih Rahayu, Arya's mother.
In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also helped carry out surgery for Arya, as well as provide post-surgery assistance.
Arya, who is currently in grade 2 of MI Mansyaul Huda, Karang Kletak, is known to have suffered from a genital tumor since birth. An examination at the age of 5 months showed that there were two tumors located on the buttocks and genitals of this boy who aspires to become a policeman. However, because he was too young, surgery to remove the tumors could not be done he was a baby.
Arya often felt pain and fever. The boy sometimes has to take a month off from school when its recur. Fortunately, the school was very concerned about the condition of its students. Not only did they take Arya to school, but the teacher also came to give lessons when Arya relapsed.
Arya's illness made him unable to enjoy his childhood like other children his age. Arya's mother, Winih, had tears in her eyes when telling her son's simple wish, which was to ride a bicycle like other friends.
"He once cried, wanting to ride a bicycle like his friends. But he couldn't ride a bicycle because of the pain. Seeing him now able to sit down, I am already grateful," said the mother of two children.
Winih admitted that she was happy for the attention of Social Affairs Minister Risma. She and her family did not expect the Ministry of Social Affairs to help Arya's recovery and provide him with business supplies. Moreover, the Minister of Social Affairs also saw her son's condition.
Now, Arya's condition is much better after surgery. Arya can already sit on his own and do light activities. However, his condition is still being monitored by assistants and representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs from the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta Integrated Center for future follow-up.
The boy who likes toy cars also expressed his happiness to be visited by the Minister of Social Affairs. "I am happy, thank you, Mrs. Minister," he said.
