JAKARTA (2 May 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara continues checking the distribution points of the President's basic food assistance. Today, Juliari greets people in four locations, namely North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta and South Jakarta.

Similar to the previous visit, Juliari also ensured the readiness of the President's Basic Food Assistance distribution. "I want to make sure that the goods have arrived in good condition, the contents are correct, and the residents represented by RT / RW are present. And no less important, the community does not need to overly debate the issue of data, "said Juliari.

To the village chief at the point he visited, the Minister emphasized not to dispute if there were discrepancies in the distribution of basic food assistance. If there are members of the community who receive assistance from more than one source, it should be discussed carefully.

"We are known as a nation with a family spirit. If there are differences, it should be resolved by deliberation. If there are people who receive basic food assistance from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and from the Ministry of Social Affairs, it is better if one of it is given to neighbours who have not received it yet but are in dire need, "said Juliari.

Today, Juliari moves to five points to check the availability of basic food assistance. In RW 03, Tugu Selatan urban village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Juliari checked 1,087 basic food assistance packages. In RW 06 Paseban Urban Village, Senen District, Central Jakarta, 297 packages.

In RW 01 Bidara Cina urban village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta with 133 packages. Then in RW 12 Kebon Baru Urban Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta, there were 295 packages. Another point of visit was RW 04 Mangga Dua Selatan Urban Village, Central Jakarta, 397 packages. Juliari also moved to the Basic Food Assistance Warehouse at Carrefour on MT Haryono Street, South Jakarta, to check it.

To the urban village chief and residents of Paseban urban village, Juliari stated that the current situation is a crisis situation. It is very possible that the available assistance cannot meet their needs. "So, if there are assistance from the local government, it can be arranged to be handed over to residents who have not yet received it," he said.
