JAKARTA (1 September 2020) - Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara symbolically handed over 4 disaster management operational vehicles to the Indonesian Army Special Forces Command Corps (Kopassus). This aid is a form of synergy between ministries and institutions in disaster management.

"What we are doing today is a form of synergy between ministries and institutions in disaster management. The goal is to ensure that the people affected by the disaster have their needs met," Juliari said at the Kopassus Headquarters, Jakarta (01/09).

The aid consists of four cars, namely two water tank vehicles and two multipurpose trucks which valued IDR 1,273,000,000 in total.

"The vehicles are expected to support operations in disaster management by Kopassus personnel. On the other hand, people affected by the disaster can get faster and better help," the Minister emphasized.

Commander General Kopassus, Major General Indonesian National Army (TNI) I Nyoman Cantiasa expressed his gratitude for the aid.

He said that the TNI had a duty in the form of military operations in peacetime known as other than war military operations. One of them was disaster management.

"Due to limited equipment, Kopassus has experienced difficulties in handling disasters in disaster areas. With this aid, we are sure that we can reach and maximize our aid to communities affected by the disasters," he said.

With this aid, Kopassus hopes to further assist in the distribution of humanitarian aid, especially the provision of clean water and mobility of community logistics.

Cantiasa also conveyed his gratitude for the support and basic food aid from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Kopassus Social Service Activity to commemorate Indonesia's 75th anniversary. "The food aid has been distributed to the assisted villages and villages where the Kopassus training are located," he said.
