SUMEDANG (January 10, 2021) - The Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini ordered all levels of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs to move quickly to the location of the landslide disaster at RT 03/RW 10 Bojongkondang Hamlet, Cihanjuang Village, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency, West Java.


On Saturday (9/1/2021) at 16.00, it rained with high intensity and quite a long duration, causing a 30-meter-high cliff to pile up with avalanche material for many people and approximately 15 houses.


Currently, the data is still limited because there was another landslide at 19.30, and officers were also reported to have been buried and injured.


According to temporary data, 15 victims are found. Search operations continue to be carried out by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Indonesian National Police (Polri), and Disaster Voluntary Workers (Tagana) of Sumedang Regency Regional Board for Disaster Management (BPBD). Coordination continues to be carried out by the West Java Province and Sumedang Regency Social Office.


Tagana, the P3A Office of Social Office, and the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs have set up a public kitchen at Cipateuag Elementary School to supply 500 packs of lunches.
