As many as Rp172 billion of the first disbursement of PKH assistance is distributed to Cimahi, Bandung City, Bandung Regency and West Bandung Regency. Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, was present accompanying the President in Rajawali Field.

"Tomorrow, the President is going to review the implementation of PKH as a national priority program and its impact. Besides, he also wants to have a direct dialogue with PKH beneficiaries, "said Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara, in Bandung, Tuesday (01/28/2020).

It is reported that until January 17th, 2020, the Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed PKH social assistance valued at Rp7 trillion. It is 24 percent of the total 2020 PKH budget that is Rp29.3 trillion.

Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari, added that in 2020 PKH policy is aimed to improve family welfare and nutrition. Furthermore, it is expected to support the national stunting prevention program. This is in line with the vision and mission of the Government as set out in the Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN) 2019-2024.

"That is the reason why Ministry of Social Affairs has improved the quality of the program and included activities related to stunting prevention through PKH, as well as adjusting policies through increasing the social assistance index," said the Minister.

The assistance for Pregnant Women and Early Childhood is increased, changing from Rp 2.4 million to Rp 3 million.

Furthermore, the index of assistance for other components remains, namely the elementary students components equivalent of Rp. 900,000 per year, junior high school students component/equivalent Rp 1.5 million per year; high school students component/equivalent Rp 2 million per year; persons with severe disabilities Rp 2.4 million per year; and elderly components 70 years and above, valued at Rp 2.4 million per year.

The Minister of Social Affairs Juliari stated that the Ministry of Social Affairs also made adjustments to the index of PKH assistance in 2020. Those adjustments were implemented in the aspects of health, education and social welfare so that the amount of assistance received by beneficiaries would vary depending on the components owned with a maximum limitation for 4 components per family.

Thus, the assistance index is only given to mothers with a maximum of 2 pregnancies, a maximum of 2 early childhood children, a maximum of 1 elderly and a maximum of 1 person with a severe disability.

"The aim is to improve the quality of PKH Beneficieries Human Resources (HR), prevent stunting, encourage family planning programs, as well as to continue children's education," he said.

This activity was attended by 2,500 beneficiaries from Cimahi (1,200 people), Bandung City (500 people), West Bandung Regency (500 people) and Bandung Regency (300 people).

145 PKH HRs were also present. There are 44 from Cimahi City, 30 from Bandung City, 30 from West Bandung Regency, 40 from Bandung Regency, and a person in charge as the coordinator of West Java.

There are 112 among 2,500 PKH beneficiaries who have been graduated and now they’re waiting for People's Business Credit (KUR) from Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). This is an effort so that the beneficiaries who have graduated from PKH membership can become self-reliant and prosperous.
