TASIKMALAYA (1 June 2022) — The success of the commemoration of the 26th National Elderly Day (HLUN) 2022 in Tasikmalaya cannot be separated from the role of all parties. Both the central government and elements of local government gave their best contribution.

 

The contribution also came from centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA). The Integrated Center Prof. Dr Soeharso Surakarta together with cadres, members of District Leadership Groups (Muspika), PKH Companion and TKSK were present to provide various services in Sariwangi District, Tasikmalaya Regency to 350 elderly.


Here, the elderly receive health services such as physical examinations, blood pressure tests, health checkups and counseling. "The elderly also received social assistance packages in the form of basic food, nutrition, clothing and practical tools. The event was also enlivened by the performance of Degung Tasikmalaya," said the Acting Head of the Integrated Center Prof. Dr Soeharso, Triyanto (01/06).

 

In addition, a total of 266 social assistance packages were also distributed, with details of 168 food packages, 40 nutrition packages, 45 clothing packages and 23 practical tools such as hearing aids, and wheelchairs for the elderly in 8 (eight) villages in Sariwangi District with total assistance of IDR 148 million.


"Previously, our team had assisted the elderly in audiometric examinations for the elderly who would receive hearing aids at the Tasik Hearing Center in Tasikmalaya City," Triyanto added.


Assistance also came from the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, namely entrepreneurship assistance for the fish feed of IDR 58 million and renovation of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) for poor single elderly, namely Samyi in Linggasirna Village, worth IDR 20 million.


Samyi also received some furniture for his new house. It consisted of mattresses, cabinets, stoves, gas, shelves, and plates as well as clothing assistance in the form of clothes, sarongs, pants and kopiah.


The Meohai Center also took part in this activity specifically in Ciawi District. Here, the Meohai Center distributed various ATENSI assistance to the community living in 11 villages in Ciawi District.


The assistance was distributed to 200 elderly people in Ciawi District, Tasikmalaya Regency, in the form of 200 food packages, 10 hearing aids, 20 reading glasses, 5 wheelchairs, 10 tripod walking sticks, 4 walkers and 5 packages of entrepreneurial assistance.


After receiving the assistance the son of Mak Edah (90 years old), from Bugel Village, said he was grateful for the food packages that were given to his mother, who was unable to walk.


"Thank you for the basic food assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs. God willing, the assistance is very useful," said Mak Edah's son.
