LAMPUNG TENGAH (23 JUNE 2023) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini met with the child victim of aggravated rape by her two stepfathers in Lampung Tengah. On that occasion, the Minister met directly with the victim's mother.


It was known that the victim's mother was not at home at the time of the incident. This was then used by perpetrators to carry out immoral acts against children.


"I asked the mother why she always left. She said that she is in debt and has to work elsewhere," said the Minister when giving a statement with Lampung Tengah Regent Musa Ahmad, at the Lampung Tengah Police Station, Thursday (22/6).


Responding to this, the Minister promised to pay off the debt and provide business capital assistance. In a meeting with the victim's mother, Risma warned that the other relatives should stay at home if the biological mother went to work.


"So the children are not left at home. I also entrusted security, for the safety of those concerned and their families," she said before reporters. Meanwhile, the Minister appreciated the Chief of Lampung Tengah Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Doffie Pahlevi Sanjaya and his staff who had responded quickly to this case and immediately arrested the perpetrators.


The Minister also appreciated the village government for encouraging the family to have the courage to report this case. "Apart from thanking the Chief and his staff, I also thank the village chief. He supported the victim's mother to have the courage to report to the police," she said.


MoSA will give psychosocial support to the victim and her mother. According to the Minister, the victim's mother seemed unwell both mentally and physically. The Minister promised to carry out physical and psychological examinations for both of them. 


"We will examine thoroughly as per the advice from the psychiatrist and psychologist apart from a medical examination for the mother. Earlier I saw her mother was deeply traumatized," said the Minister.


The rise of aggravated rape cases involving families has prompted the Minister of Social Affairs to urge parents to tighten the supervision of children. Parents are asked to be sensitive to changes in children. According to the Minister, mothers must care for their children even though they have to work for a living.


As for this case, it went viral in the media after being reported to the police. Two stepfathers abuse minors. This incident was reported after the victim's aunt found one of the perpetrators of SMN (50) sending obscene messages to the victim.


SMN has committed despicable acts against the victim from 2019 to 2022. After investigation, it was found out that the stepfather with the initials FRM had also done the same thing to the victim in 2023.
