TERNATE (August 15, 2023) - The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini reviewed the cataract operations of 277 beneficiaries, the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) SCTV-Indosiar, the Association of Indonesian Ophthalmologists (Perdami) and the Government of North Maluku Province, carried out at the Azzura and Ar Rahmah Clinics, Ternate City, North Maluku.

Minister of Social Affairs Risma reminded us how important this cataract operation is to prevent blindness and increase the number of persons with visual sensory disabilities. In addition, the Minister of Social Affairs also gave instructions to the relevant Centers to collect data and provide pick-up facilities and lodging accommodations for participants who are located far from the place of treatment.

As a form of appreciation, Social Minister Risma gave awards to 12 people who contributed to the operation including the local government and the doctors involved.

Also present were North Maluku Governor Abdul Ghani Kasuba, Chairperson of the North Maluku Province (Malut) Regional People's Legislative Council (DPRD) Kuntu Daud, Chief Executive of YPP SCTV-Indosiar Abas Yahya, Head of the North Maluku Provincial Social Service Zen Kasim, Head of Traffic Unit AKP Rezza Muhammad Fajrin and Director of Elderly Rehabilitation Supomo.
