SOUTH MALANG (17 September 2020) - In an effort to minimize the impact of natural disasters, the Ministry of Social Affairs established community-based Disaster Alert Villages (KSB) in many areas in Indonesia, including the southern coastal area in Malang Regency, East Java Province. Communities are trained to increase their capacity to be more alert and responsive to disasters and all its risks.

Four villages in four different sub-districts in South Malang Regency are targeted to become KSB, starting from Srigonco Village in Bantur District, Tumpakrejo Village in Gedangan District, Banjarejo Village in Donomulyo District, to Purwodadi Village in Tirtoyudo District. With the inauguration of the four KSBs, it practically adds to the long list of KSBs from 759 to 763 KSBs in Indonesia.
