DELI SERDANG (December 6, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed aid worth IDR 425 million to flood victims in Patumbak District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, who have been affected since November 27, 2024. The aid includes basic necessities, public kitchens, and school supplies was handed over directly by Ministry of Social Affairs officials and members of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

The Villa Patumbak Permai Housing area was one of the worst affected locations with a flood height reaching 2 meters due to the overflowing Seruai River. The Ministry of Social Affairs along with the local Social Office have set up a public kitchen since the beginning of the disaster, providing 3,000 portions of food per day. This assistance is expected to ease the burden on 350 affected families and accelerate post-disaster recovery.
