JAKARTA (December 16, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) highlighted the complex challenges faced by social workers today, encouraging the need for a combination of approaches in achieving the Ministry of Social Affairs' targets. In the 2024 National Consolidation of Indonesian Social Workers, he asked for the forum's recommendations to be realized concretely and invited regular meetings to respond to field dynamics.
Vice Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo Priyono, emphasized the importance of empowering communities to be independent and not dependent on social assistance. He invited social workers to focus on production, economic empowerment, and poverty graduation, instead of just providing social protection. Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Robben Rico, supported the plan for standardization and a roadmap for professionalism of social work throughout Indonesia.
