JOMBANG (December 14, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), reviewed the flood locations that hit Jombang and Mojokerto Regencies, East Java, on Saturday (12/14/2024). Gus Ipul ensured that the needs of the evacuees were fulfilled and provided the necessary logistical support, such as food, clothing, and children's needs. He also visited two evacuee posts in Jombang and one post in Mojokerto, coordinating with the local government to handle the emergency situation.
In the midst of the review, Gus Ipul took part in the Psychosocial Support Service (LDP) activities involving evacuees, especially children and mothers. He looked energetic participating in "ice-breaking" exercises with the evacuees, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. Gus Ipul also introduced various assistance provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as kids ware assistance packages for evacuee children.
The Ministry of Social Affairs' assistance for evacuees includes 500 ready-to-eat food packages, 40 children's food packages, 200 blankets, 130 family kit packages, mattresses, roll-up tents, and various other assistance, with a total assistance value of IDR303 million. Gus Ipul emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and the community to deal with disasters effectively.
