JAKARTA (December 1, 2024) - In commemoration of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the Ministry of Social Affairs launched the HDI E-Catalog, a digital platform that markets 170 works of art from persons with disabilities throughout Indonesia. The launch event at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, was carried out by Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) together with Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono.

The E-Catalog displays various art styles, including realism, abstraction, and illustration, the work of artists with various types of disabilities. One of the artists who stands out is Sadikin, a painter from Malang who paints with his feet. This member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (AMFPA) has brought his works to the international scene. In this event, Sadikin did live painting, and one of his works was immediately purchased by Ajik Krisna, the owner of Krisna Bali Souvenirs.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Persons with Disabilities, Norman Yulian, welcomed this initiative as an effort to support equality and empowerment of the disabled. The HDI E-Catalog, which can be accessed at https://kataloghdi.com for 15 days, is expected to be a sustainable step in providing opportunities for people with disabilities to work and be empowered.
