KARAWANG (December 5, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, emphasized the Ministry of Social Affairs' commitment to collaborate with the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) in preventing and handling stunting. This was conveyed at the launch of the Foster Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting (GENTING) in Karawang, West Java. This program aims to reduce the prevalence of stunting which has reached 21.5% by mobilizing various parties to support the nutritional, sanitation, and education needs of at-risk families.

Gus Ipul also provided direction to PKH social assistants in Karawang, emphasizing the importance of measurable assistance and graduation programs for beneficiary families (KPM) to be more independent. He appreciated President Prabowo Subianto's policy of supporting the improvement of the employment status of social assistants.

Therefore, Ministry of Social Affairs continues to strengthen cross-sector coordination, data validation, and strengthening work standards to ensure that the program runs effectively and on target.
