JAKARTA (February 2, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Kartini Temanggung Integrated Center provides a quick response to the condition of Grandfather Ikhsan (59), a resident of Semare Village, Berbek District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java who is in the economic difficulties for platinum remover surgery.

Since suffering a mild stroke that caused him unable to walk properly, Grandpa Ikhsan has been unable to move freely. He works odd jobs, which are erratic because he can only work when a neighbor needs his help.

An accident that happened to Ikhsan 7 years ago got worse so his left leg had to be fitted with a pen. Then, his left leg had a gaping wound that needed intensive treatment.

Knowing this, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini directed the Kartini Temanggung Integrated Center team to respond quickly. The center coordinated with the social service office, village government, and Nganjuk District Hospital in providing assistance and assisting Ikhsan.

The Ministry of Social Affairs accompanied Ikhsan to get a medical check-up at Nganjuk District Hospital, on Monday (15/1). Ikhsan was hospitalized for a week to observe his condition.

The examination results showed that his health condition had improved. Not long after, Ikhsan underwent surgery to remove the platinum and the surgery went smoothly. Ikhsan felt very grateful to have been helped by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"On January 31, he was checkup again, his wound has dried up and his condition is getting better," said Sujaka Trimartono, Associate Expert Social Counselor at the Kartini Temanggung Integrated Center, Thursday (1/2/2024).

In addition to assisting his health recovery, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided wheelchair assistance to make him easier to move. In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided assistance in fulfilling a decent life, such as clothing, bedding, and providing nutrition through catering close to Ikhsan's house every day.

The village government will also support building a bathroom and toilet in his house, as well as plastering the floor and entrance using cement. The Nganjuk District Social Service will also paint the walls inside his house.

The Ministry of Social Affairs together with the community health center team will continue to monitor and provide assistance for Ikhsan's health. The Nganjuk Social Service will also propose Ikhsan to receive disability food assistance.
